LAP-BAND® System Motivational and Lifestyle Change Tools

March 25, 2003 was the day of my re-birth. On that day, I took control of my life as an obese person, and chose to receive the LAP-BAND® System to assist with permanent weight control and a much healthier and more active life. With the Band, and the techniques I'll discuss below, I lost about 100 pounds in less than a year's time, and am now successfully keeping my goal weight in perfect control. I am a very active member of the international Band community, through support groups, conferences, seminars, regular participation in online support and educational sites, and writing Bandster educational materials.

Banding impacts every area of our lives, both physically and emotionally, and will do so for the rest of our lives. There is a fair amount of written material regarding daily living with the Band and its physical needs, but there is a great lack of information and guidance in recognizing and making the many emotional and lifestyle changes that are also needed for a successful weight loss and long-term weight maintenance with Banding.

In counseling Band clients, we often speak of working on emotional issues and making lifestyle changes but what exactly ARE these? What issues led to our becoming obese? What do we need to change? What new patterns and habits do we need to learn? How do we learn them? How do we make them a permanent part of our healthier lives to assure ongoing success?

Guided Imagery and self-hypnosis techniques were an essential part of my own Band journey and success, and I continue to use them daily to maintain my weight loss and to deal with the normal stressors of daily living.

I'm very excited now to be working with my colleague, Ellen Simon, to develop and offer Bandsters for the first time - clear guidance in overcoming the many emotional, eating and self-image concerns, and lifestyle changes needed to have a successful Band journey.  Ellen is a licensed therapist with a large counseling practice in the area of motivation and achieving personal goals. We have developed a set of LAP-BAND® System Motivation and Lifestyle Change Tools that specifically addresses many issues that have sabotaged even the most committed Bandsters.  Our series of self-hypnosis and guided imagery CD's provide Bandsters with clear information and tools to address and make the essential lifestyle changes that will allow permanent weight control.

We specifically address the issues of Head and Heart Hunger, sugar cravings, stress management, emotional eating vs. nutritional eating, learning better food choices, maintaining motivation, exercise, improving self-image, stress management, self-confidence and much more. We then provide clear tools and  guidance to MAKING these needed changes.  We use medically-proven self-hypnosis and Guided Imagery techniques that have been extremely successful in many areas of medicine, and particularly in Weight Management.

Self-hypnosis and Guided Imagery techniques were very important and effective tools in my own weight loss journey, and I believe these LAP-BAND® System Motivation and Lifestyle Change Tools will also play an important part in helping others reach their goal of achieving a healthier mental and physical life with Banding weight loss.

Science Proving What We Already Know
You can CHANGE YOUR LIFE when you change your mind!

These programs utilize a combination of powerful methods designed to impact consciousness.  These methods utilize a combination of time proven imagery techniques along with a new state of the art music technology. The music integrates sounds from nature, beautiful original music compositions, binaural soundscapes and healing harmonics that resonate at a frequency that falls within the range of the alpha brain wave frequency which is between 8-13 hertz, or cycles per second. Alpha brain waves are associated with states of relaxation, meditation and peaceful contemplation.  Repeated exposure to alpha states combined with intentional imagery and purposeful messages can serve to mobilize unconscious and subconscious processes, and facilitate the achievement of goals and maximum personal potential.

In short, this program contains powerful technology to assist in the manifestation of conscious choices.
